Sublime

Just heard "Santeria" on the radio and suddenly I really was 18 again, wearing Meg Cooney's borrowed clothes, at a dorm party, dancing on a sticky floor with black lights and trashcans nearby full of ice and Keystone light. Then a second later, I was hungover from wine coolers, trying to write a 10-page paper in an hour. And then, the next moment, I was 30, in a station wagon, picking up diaper cream from the CVS. True story.

Did you succeed in writing the paper that fast?

That was a bit of hyperbole, but I definitely wrote some long papers under the gun more than once.

amazing. i have similar memories on the same wave length that are obviously different (liz barney's house soph year of high school nervously playing Kings at her dining room table with the hot senior boy lacrosse players and alternating doublefisted sips between bud ice light and a plastic cup full of goldschlager's).

wow, i suddenly feel very old and almost ashamedly mature.

How funny! For me it's 1999's Smooth by Carlos Santana and Rob Thomas. Oh how my life has changed!
